Netflix has introduced a new feature called ‘Two Thumbs Up” for its global audience. The goal of this feature is to make the platform’s recommendation section better. As a result of this capability, Netflix will be able to fine-tune consumer recommendations. On the site, there are now two alternatives for enjoying and disliking (sort of) a title. A thumbs up icon indicates “Like it,” whereas a thumbs down icon indicates “Not for Me.”
The “Two Thumbs Up” feature will signify “I enjoyed it.” Along with the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down capabilities, this new feature is available on the Web, TV, iOS, and Android mobile devices. According to Netflix, the feature is now available to all subscribers.
“Our current Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons are a good way for you to tell us how you feel about a series or film, and in exchange, you receive a profile that’s more personalized to your taste,” Netflix said in a statement. We’ve recognized, however, that these emotions are more complex than a simple like or dislike. If you provide us another way to recognize when you’re really into something, we can build a profile with recommendations that better suit your interests.”
If you give a show like Bridgerton a “Two Thumbs Up,” Netflix will recommend further shows and films by the same or similar director Shondaland.
To access this feature on an Android phone, simply touch on the relevant title and then click on the three dots under the title name. Options such as ‘Two Thumbs Up,’ ‘I Like it,’ ‘Download,’ ‘Not For Me,’ and others will surface.
Netflix also wants to expand its gaming options for newcomers. The video streaming platform’s third gaming studio, Boss Fight Entertainment, was recently bought. Since March 2022, the firm has acquired a second gaming studio. Night School, the creator of Oxenfree, and Next Games have already worked with Netflix.
