The Senior Men’s Selection Committee on Wednesday picked India’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against West Indies to be played in the Caribbean Islands and in Florida, USA.

Here the important point is the return of Sanju Samson.  It was due since long as Sanju Samson was performing quite well in IPL. However, I have a personal opinion on his consistency.  When he plays, he plays like non-other but he is not consistent.  He has to control his shots and his temperament to be a consistent member of the Indian Team. Sanju has got one more opportunity to prove his talent. It will be interesting to see if he plays as a wicketkeeper or as a batsman.

BCCI selectors have also put their faith in debutants Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Verma.  These two have proved their talent in the recently concluded IPL.

It seems that BCCI has put the benchmark for the selection of the Indian team as the performance in IPL. If you perform well in IPL, you get a chance in Indian Team. The importance of domestic performance is easily ignored or overlooked.
