Rashtriya Raksha University and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Join Hands for Training and Research
Gandhinagar, Gujarat, 01 September 2023, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership for training, research, extension, and consultancy. The MoU was signed during a ceremony attended by esteemed representatives from both institutions.
The signing of this MoU marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between RRU and TISS. The agreement aims to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange in various areas of mutual interest, including National Security, Defense Studies, Correctional Administration, Criminology and Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Vocational Education, Law, Rights, Constitutional Governance, and Related Fields.
Prof. Shalini Bharat, Vice Chancellor of TISS; Prof. Madhushree Sekher, Dean of the School of Vocational Education at TISS; and Prof. Arvind Tiwari, Dean of the School of Law, Rights, and Constitutional Governance at TISS, were present during the signing ceremony. Representing RRU were Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice Chancellor of RRU, and Prof. (Dr.) Kalpesh H. Wandra, Pro-VC of RRU.
Under this collaboration, both institutions will work together to develop joint training programs that cater to the needs of national security, defense, police, central armed police forces, and private, industrial, and corporate security personnel. These programs will focus on enhancing skilling, reskilling, and upskilling in national security, defense management, internal security, correctional administration, and policing areas.
Furthermore, the partnership will facilitate collaborative research projects aimed at addressing contemporary challenges faced by society. By leveraging the expertise and resources available at both institutions, researchers will be able to conduct interdisciplinary studies that contribute to policy formulation and societal development.
The MoU also emphasizes the importance of extension activities and consultancy services. RRU and TISS will jointly organize seminars, workshops, conferences, and other knowledge-sharing events to disseminate research findings and promote dialogue among stakeholders. Additionally, the institutions will provide consultancy services to Government Agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other relevant entities in areas related to National Security, Defense Management, and Internal Security related fields.
Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership between Rashtriya Raksha University and Tata Institute of Social Sciences will create a platform for synergistic collaboration in crucial areas of national importance. By combining our strengths and expertise, we aim to contribute significantly to the development of knowledge and skills in National Security, Defense Studies, Social Sciences, Law, and Vocational Education.”
Prof. Shalini Bharat also shared her thoughts on the collaboration, saying, “The MoU between TISS and RRU provides an excellent opportunity for interdisciplinary engagement and knowledge sharing. We look forward to working together on research projects that address societal challenges and contribute to the well-being of our nation.”
