Indian Cricketer Jasprit Bumrah Welcomes His First Child
Indian cricket team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan are now proud parents to a baby boy. Bumrah, who took a break from his Asia Cup 2023 duties to be with his wife, shared the wonderful news on Instagram with a sweet message. In the post, Bumrah introduced their son, naming him ‘Angad.’ He wrote, “Our family has grown, and our hearts are filled with joy! Today, we welcomed our baby boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah, into the world. We are thrilled and excited about this new chapter in our lives.”
Sanjana Ganesan initially began her career in the IT field as a software engineer after graduating. In 2012, she participated in the Femina Style Diva competition, reaching the finals.
Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan had kept their relationship private until rumors began circulating on social media after Bumrah took personal leave from the 4th Test against England in India back in 2021. They later shared photos and announced their wedding.
Sanjana Ganesan, born on May 6, 1991, is a sports presenter in India and has also worked as a model. She is known for hosting various sports events in India.
Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan dated for two years before getting married on March 15, 2021. Their wedding took place in a private ceremony in Goa, following traditional Sikh customs.
Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan first crossed paths when she interviewed him during the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. They became friends but didn’t interact much after that initial meeting.
Aside from her sports anchoring work, Sanjana Ganesan won the ‘Femina Officially Gorgeous’ title and also appeared on MTV’s Splitsvilla Season 7 in 2014, hosted by Sunny Leone and Nikhil Chinapa.
Jasprit Bumrah, a key player in the Indian cricket team, made a comeback to international cricket after a year-long break due to a back injury. He performed well against Ireland in a T20I series and was selected for the Indian team for the Asia Cup. Although he played in India’s opening match against Pakistan, he didn’t get to bowl due to rain. Bumrah decided to miss the second match against Nepal to be with his wife during the birth of their child. However, he will rejoin the Indian squad for the Super 4 stage.
It’s crucial for the Indian team to give Bumrah enough match practice as he remains a vital asset, especially with the upcoming ODI World Cup in mind.
