Picture this: an event dedicated to promoting, protecting, and providing a sustainable platform for our skilled artisans and craftspeople. Inaugurated by the esteemed Mayor of Ahmedabad, Shrimati Pratibhaben Jain, and attended by distinguished figures like Shri Girish Singhal and Smt. Hetal Amin, this unique exhibition is a convergence of India’s finest handcrafted treasures and delectable culinary creations.
Here, you’ll find exquisite handicrafts from talented artisans across the region. From intricately woven textiles to meticulously carved sculptures, each piece carries with it a story of unwavering dedication and boundless creativity. It’s a testament to the spirit of India and the ingenuity of its artisans.
The 4th Edition of “Hunar Mahotsav – A Festival of Crafts, Cuisine & Culture” has taken place from November 2 to November 11, 2023, at Vallabhsadan, Sabarmati Riverfront. Around 200 stalls were thoughtfully set up by artisans and culinary experts, transforming the venue into a vibrant tapestry of India’s rich heritage.
This celebration is made possible through the unwavering support of the Ahmedabad Chamber of Commerce Welfare Foundation and Kalyani Sahasik Mahila Vikas Sangh.
“Hunar Mahotsav” is more than just an exhibition; it’s a platform for India’s artisans and culinary experts to showcase their talents and exemplary work. It’s expected to draw a daily audience of 3,000 to 4,000 visitors, all eager to witness the magic created by these talented individuals. The goal is to encourage professionals, enthusiasts, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and discuss the latest trends and advancements. Moreover, “Hunar Mahotsav” is not just limited to Ahmedabad; it has plans to grace other cities like Delhi, Surat, Nagpur, Lucknow, and Chandigarh in the current financial year.
The heart and soul of India come alive at “Hunar Mahotsav.” More than 300 artisans and craftsmen from over 25 States/Union Territories have converged in Ahmedabad. They represent regions such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, Puducherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and more. They’ve gathered here to display and sell their exquisite indigenous handmade products.
A treasure trove of indigenous handmade products awaits your exploration. You can acquire everything from Applique work, dry flowers, and jute-cane items to brass products, wooden and clay toys, Ajrakh Block Print, Blue Art Pottery, Pashmina Shawls, Khadi products, Banarsi Silk, Wooden Furniture, Chikankari Embroidery, Chanderi Silk, Lac bangles, Rajasthani jewellery, Phulkari, leather products, pottery, jute items, and so much more. It’s an opportunity to take home a piece of India’s rich culture and craftsmanship.

And that’s not all – a variety of live music programs, Sufi Nights, Dance performances, Standup Comedy, Bollywood Nights, Puppet Shows, Magical Nights, instrumental fusion, and even a lively Garba night are on the agenda at “Hunar Mahotsav.” The best part? Entry to this exhibition is free for all, welcoming everyone with open arms.
