In a heart-touching event on November 18, 2023, the Trivedi family celebrated the unveiling of an extraordinary brass statue honouring Shri Chhotalal Dalpatram Trivedi in KhedBrahma. Crafted with precision by the seasoned sculptor, Mrs Rachana Dave, the 400 kg masterpiece pays homage to the visionary’s integral role in Devinagar’s growth.
Mrs. Rachana Dave, with her 18 years of artistic prowess, invested three months in bringing Shri Chhotalal’s essence to life. Using an age-old photograph as her guide, she meticulously captured his physicality and style, only an artist can visualise such an image and show her creativity. The intricate process involved moulding a clay prototype, enveloping it in fibre, and finally casting it in resilient brass. To safeguard this cultural gem from the elements, the statue received protective coatings.
Shri Chhotalal Dalpatram Trivedi’s legacy as a community builder and philanthropist is etched in KhedBrahma’s history. His selfless contributions included donating his personal farm for town planning, facilitating well construction, establishing primary schools, and overseeing amenities for cattle. Notably, he extended his philanthropy to building temples and spearheading various public projects, fostering an inclusive community spirit by providing affordable plots to residents.
Mrs. Rachana Dave, founder of Finesse Art Studio in Ahmedabad, reflected on the project, expressing her commitment to preserving Shri Chhotalal’s impactful legacy through her art. A graduate of C. N Vidyalaya in Fine Arts, she is currently crafting a brass statue of India’s Iron Man, Shri Vallabhbhai Patel.
This latest addition joins Mrs. Rachana Dave’s portfolio, which includes statues of prominent figures like Mr. Keshu Bhai Patel, Mr. Vikram Sarabhai, Ms. Heeraba, and Mr. Mani Bhai, contributing to the cultural tapestry of Ahmedabad.
