Bridging Futures for Unemployed Youth
Globally, Memons, a Muslim ethnic group originating from the Indian subcontinent, have traditionally been known for their mercantile endeavours. Over time, their roles have diversified, encompassing various professions. Today, Memons are recognized for their philanthropic contributions, evident in the construction of mosques, orphanages, hospitals, and educational institutions across the world.
The World Memon Organization (WMO) stands as a beacon of humanitarianism, committed to uplifting the underprivileged sections of the Memon community through education, housing, healthcare, and social welfare initiatives. Spearheaded by Shri Ehsan Gadawala, Hon’ble Trustee, Shri Haseen Aghadi, President, and Sharif Memon, Secretary General, WMO has been actively engaged in transformative projects globally.
In a bid to address unemployment among the youth, WMO, in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Memon Jamat Association, organized a Free Mega Job Fair on January 27, 2024, in Ahmedabad. The event, inaugurated by Corporator Amit Thaker, saw the participation of over 35 companies offering a staggering 5722 entry-level job opportunities in retail, hospitality, management, and finance sectors. These openings catered to undergraduates, postgraduates, and interns, providing a gateway to employment for aspiring individuals.
Shri Mohmed Sharif N. Memon, Secretary of WMO and Director of DEEP GROUP OF COMPANIES, unveiled plans for the inaugural World Memon Expo – WMO Convention 2024 scheduled for January 28, 2024, in Ahmedabad. This convention marks a significant milestone in WMO’s journey, showcasing its commitment to the welfare and well-being of the Memon community.
WMO India, the largest parental organization representing the Memon community in India, boasts membership across the nation. With a non-profit ethos driving its initiatives, WMO continues to catalyze positive change, embodying the spirit of compassion and empowerment
The Mega Job Fair aimed to provide employment opportunities for youth across various sectors, thereby fostering economic stability and growth within the community.
WMO’s Convention 2024 serves as a platform for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas, fostering community engagement and empowerment.
Through its philanthropic endeavors, WMO strives to create a more equitable and inclusive society, where every individual has access to education, healthcare, and basic amenities.
The convention will feature panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions, highlighting the achievements and aspirations of the Memon community while charting a course for a brighter future.
