In a remarkable initiative to support and uplift persons with disabilities (Divyang persons), the Adani Foundation and the Government of Gujarat’s Department of Social Justice and Empowerment have joined forces to expand their collaboration. The announcement was made on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at an inspiring event held at the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar.
The event brought together dignitaries, leaders, and Divyang persons to reflect on the progress made and reaffirm their commitment to building an inclusive society. Jeet Adani, Director of Airports at Adani Group, expressed heartfelt admiration for the resilience and courage of Divyang persons.
“Today, I stand not just as a leader but as someone deeply inspired by the strength of our Divyang brothers and sisters,” he said. He highlighted that over the past decade, the Adani Foundation has played a crucial role in empowering Divyang persons through skill development, livelihood opportunities, education, and necessary tools to make their lives easier.
The event was graced by several notable personalities:

At the heart of this collaboration lies the Swavlamban Project, an initiative launched in 2014 to improve the lives of Divyang persons, especially in the Kutch region, including Mundra, Khawda, and Lakhpat talukas.
This project focuses on:
- Skill Training: Providing Divyang persons with the skills needed to secure jobs or start businesses.
- Educational Support: Enabling access to quality education.
- Job Placements: Connecting individuals with employers.
- Tools & Equipment: Offering essential aids to enhance mobility and self-reliance.
Over the years, the Swavlamban Project has made significant strides in empowering Divyang persons. One of its standout initiatives was the Divyang Employment Fair 2023, held at the Adani Field Office in Mundra. The fair saw participation from 22 companies and led to 111 job placements, along with equipment support for five self-employed candidates.
Looking ahead, the expanded partnership aims to benefit over 7,055 Divyang persons. This includes comprehensive support in areas such as skill training, entrepreneurship, education, and job opportunities. The collaboration is a shining example of how corporate and government partnerships can create a meaningful impact on society.
