Adani Group and ISKCON Join Hands to Serve Devotees at Maha Kumbh Mela
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and the Adani Group have teamed up to serve meals to millions of devotees attending this year’s Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj in a touching act of compassion and devotion. Known as the Mahaprasad Seva, this program will be available from January 13 to February 26 during the celebration.
A major Hindu pilgrimage, the Maha Kumbh Mela attracts millions of visitors from around the globe. By making sure that no one goes hungry this year, the Adani Group and ISKCON hope to improve the devotees’ spiritual experience. Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani conveyed his sincere appreciation to ISKCON for their assistance in this wonderful endeavor.
Gautam Adani personally thanked Guru Prasad Swami, the Chairman of ISKCON’s Governing Body Commission (GBC), for ISKCON’s participation in the Mahaprasad Seva at their meeting on Thursday. Adani discussed the importance of seva, or selfless service, in spiritual practice throughout the discussion. “Kumbh is a sacred place of seva,” he said, adding that every devotee participates in seva for God. I am fortunate that we are working with ISKCON to launch the ‘Mahaprasad Seva’ for the devotees at the Maha Kumbh.
“With the blessings of Maa Annapurna, free food will be provided to lakhs of devotees,” Adani said, underscoring the spiritual nature of seva. I had the chance to meet Guru Prasad Swami ji of ISKCON today, and I was profoundly moved by the strength of seva-focused dedication. Seva is the pinnacle of patriotism in its purest form. Seva is God, Seva is prayer, and Seva is meditation.
One of ISKCON’s top speakers, Guru Prasad Swami, commended the Adani Group for their steadfast dedication to social service and business responsibility. He praised Gautam Adani’s selflessness and initiative in giving back to the community. “The Adani Group has consistently been a model of social service and corporate responsibility. His humility is what sets Gautam Adani ji apart; instead of waiting to be summoned, he goes out and serves without expecting anything in return. We sincerely appreciate his contribution. According to Swami, his work motivates us to support society and band together for the good of all people.
With intentions to feed 50 lakh devotees, the Mahaprasad Seva is an enormous undertaking. Two sizable kitchens one outdoors and one inside the mela area will be used to make the meals. After that, the food would be given out at 40 various places throughout the Maha Kumbh region. 2,500 volunteers will actively participate in this enormous operation to make sure that the meals are distributed to all those in need.
The organizers have made arrangements for golf carts to facilitate easy transit within the Mela grounds in order to accommodate the needs of mothers with children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Additionally, five lakh copies of Geeta Saar will be given out to devotees at the Kumbh Mela in an attempt to disseminate spiritual knowledge.
This partnership between the Adani Group and ISKCON demonstrates the value of corporate social responsibility as well as the ability of teamwork to benefit humanity. Millions of devotees will be able to enjoy the Maha Kumbh Mela with their hearts and bellies full thanks to the Mahaprasad Seva.
