Google is reportedly planning to release its next mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 6A, in May.
According to the usually reliable tipster Max Jambor, the Google Pixel 6A will be released in May, around the time of the annual Google IO 2022 event, reports Techradar.
The Google Pixel 5a 5G was first announced in August 2021. Its forerunner, the Pixel 4a, was unveiled in August 2020. The Pixel 3a was officially unveiled at the Google I/O event in May 2019.
Google is also expected to unveil the Pixel Watch on May 26, which appears to be the date for the next Google I/O conference.

In 2022, the Pixel is one of the most anticipated smartphones. In terms of cameras, the Google Pixel 6A is said to have a dual rear camera setup with a 12.2MP primary camera and a 12MP secondary camera.
The smartphone could have a single front-facing camera setup for selfies, as well as an 8MP primary camera.
It is expected to have a mid-range Tensor processor, most likely a Tensor Lite SoC or Snapdragon 778G.
The Pixel 6A may have 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and it will ship with Android 12 out of the box, with up to three years of version upgrades and five years of security updates.
