“Sangh Shatabdi Shakha Kumbh” in Shivaji Bhag, Surat (Parvat Patiya Area)
More than 2,500 volunteers from Shivaji Bhag (Parvat Patiya area), Surat gathered in one ground and set up 119 branches (Shakhas).
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Surat Division organized a special event called “Sangh Shatabdi Shakha Kumbh” to celebrate the Hindu New Year and the RSS centenary year. This grand event took place at Marudhar Ground, where 2,524 volunteers gathered at 7:00 AM and participated in 119 Shakhas. The event included various physical and intellectual activities.

The chief speaker at this event was Dr. Akhilesh Pandey, the Sah-Karyavah of RSS Gujarat Prant (State). In his speech, he mentioned that RSS started with one branch in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, and today, it has grown into a massive organization across India.
Dr. Akhilesh Pandey encouraged volunteers to become self-reliant and focus on:
- Native language (Swabhasha)
- Traditional attire (Bhusha)
- Indian culture (Sanskriti)
- Using local and Indigenous products (Swadeshi)
He also spoke about the Sangh’s vision as it enters its 100th year. He emphasized the importance of social transformation through five key areas:
Swadeshi (Self-awareness and self-reliance)
Environmental conservation
Civic responsibilities
Family awareness and values
Social harmony and unity
On the occasion of the Hindu New Year (Varsh Pratipada), he urged volunteers to work for the betterment of society by bringing together people with good intentions and strong values. He emphasized that every Indian should be aware of their glorious past and stay connected to their roots.
He also spoke about erasing caste, religion, and colour discrimination and promoting harmony in society, starting from one’s own family.
The event was attended by more than 3,000 people, including several social leaders and dignitaries.
