Adani’s Foray into Copper Industry
On a bright Thursday in Mundra, Gujarat, Kutch Copper, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, marked a significant milestone as it dispatched the inaugural batch of cathodes from its newly commissioned copper refinery project. This venture signifies the Adani Group’s maiden step into the metal industry, demonstrating its prowess in orchestrating large-scale projects with finesse and efficiency.
Investment and Capacity
Adani Enterprises is investing approximately $1.2 billion in establishing a copper smelter with an initial capacity of 0.5 million metric tons per annum (MTPA) in the first phase. Upon completion of the second phase, which mirrors the first in capacity, Kutch Copper will boast the distinction of being the world’s largest single-location custom smelter, with a combined capacity of 1 MTPA. Such monumental investment and scale promise to usher in a new era of industrial prowess and economic growth in the region.
Employment Opportunities
