2024 Will See the First International Moot Court Competition at Rashtriya Raksha University

December 04, 2024, Gandhinagar Rashtriya Raksha University’s (RRU) School of Criminal Law and Military Law is pleased to announce the inaugural International Moot Court Competition (RIMC’24). This esteemed gathering, which is set for December 6–8, 2024, will bring together some of the most brilliant legal minds to discuss and debate the important topic of Global Economic and Financial Security Law.

The purpose of the event is to assess participants’ capacity to apply their legal knowledge to practical issues. Students will address intricate problems about economic security, corruption, money laundering, and other topics, putting their advocacy abilities, legal knowledge, and strategic thinking front and center. The competition seeks to prepare participants for the demands of contemporary legal practices by encouraging critical and analytical thinking. after arduous memorial knockouts, 16 teams advanced from the initial 30 registrations. Now, in front of a prestigious panel of judges, these candidates have the chance to demonstrate their abilities.

Some of the most renowned names in the legal and business worlds will be present at the event, including Honorable Judge Surya Kant of the Indian Supreme Court. The Director General of the Ministry of Finance’s Central Economic Intelligence Bureau is Shri Amit Mohan Govil. senior representatives of the Indian government’s Ministry of External Affairs. In addition to adding credibility to the event, their presence gives students an unparalleled chance to learn from industry experts.

RIMC’24 is more than just a competition. It provides a great opportunity for participants to engage with international legal professionals from around the world. Vice Chancellor of RRU Professor (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel highlighted the significance of the competition’s theme, saying, “Economic security is a vital element of modern governance.” It takes teamwork and creative thinking to address issues like money laundering, corruption, and the funding of terrorism. RRU helps to shape future policy and raise awareness of these important topics by holding this competition.

The School of Criminal Law and Military Law’s director, Dr. Dimple Raval, emphasized how the program would foster vital abilities including legal awareness, advocacy, and critical thinking. “RIMC’24 is a very relevant and impactful event because, in contrast to traditional moot courts, it explores global issues that affect states, like economic crimes and financial security,” she continued.

By promoting intense brainstorming sessions, the competition hopes to support policy-making in addition to improving legal knowledge. Students will participate in debates that may result in creative answers to problems about global economic and financial stability.
