They expect a 25% increase in passengers by the end of this year. To handle this, the airport is growing too. They used to have 16 immigration counters; now they have 24 with the latest technology to make things smooth for travelers.
The new arrival area celebrates the heritage of Ahmedabad. It’s called “Amaru Amdavad” which means “My Ahmedabad.” It shows off the city’s rich history, special traditions, and lively culture. As passengers walk through, they’ll see shining torans, which are symbols of a warm and happy welcome.
They are also adding beautiful planters called “Aangan Van.” These will show the region’s ancient culture through art and craft. These planters will be peaceful places where tired travelers can rest and relax under the sky.
They’ve made the baggage reclaim area better too. There are now six big conveyor belts for baggage, so people can get their belongings quickly. Customs exits are also improved to make leaving the airport faster.
