Celebrating the Spirit of Navratri at Narayana Business School
Navratri is a celebration of cultural customs, dedication, and joy uniting people. Narayana Business School in Ahmedabad embraced this attitude to the next degree this year by organising a lively Garbo event drawing students from 24 different states of India. The pre-Navratri celebration held by the institution produced a happy environment bursting with dance, music, and enthusiasm.
The students clearly were excited as the Navratri festival drew near. At Narayana Business School, students had been fervently getting ready to celebrate for a whole month, in preparation for the occasion. Held on the eve of the nine-day celebration, the event called “Night Before Navratri,” gave students the ideal chance to welcome Navratri with traditional Garbus and Dandiya.
A Fusion of Cultures at Narayana Business School
The occasion was a national one with students from all throughout India, not only a local celebration. Celebrating the holiday together, participants from 24 various states created a melting pot of values, customs, and cultures. The event stood out because of this cultural variety since students from many areas discovered and valued Gujarat’s energetic Garbo legacy.
The pupils dressed in vibrant, traditional garb, therefore reflecting the several Indian civilisations. Seeing everyone dancing together, from all backgrounds, was a real illustration of unity in variety. The festival gave the children a stage to not only have fun but also learn about one another’s customs and practices.
Mansi Joshi on the Special Significance of This Year’s Event
Assistant Professor Mansi Joshi, who has been intimately involved in planning the event for the previous 24 years, underlined how especially memorable this year was. Regarding the celebration, she remarked, “We have been commemorating the holy Maa Amba holiday here at Narayana Business School for the past 24 years. This year is special since kids from 24 different states have gathered here to engage in Garbu. By means of this event, we can expose our pupils to India’s rich cultural legacy.”
She went on, “It’s a delight to witness our pupils dance Garbo, especially those who are fresh to this custom. They have really embraced Garbo, after learning how to perform it. It’s quite amazing to see them dance together and clothed in vibrant, traditional clothing. We appreciate the management of the school for sponsoring such cultural activities.
Months of Preparation for the Grand Celebration
Organising such a large-scale celebration was no little chore. The teachers and students put great effort into making sure everything went without a hitch for one month. Making sure the event went well included coordination, planning, and rehearsals all included elements of Every element—from the decorations and music to the traditional Garbo steps—was well thought out.
Several seminars teaching outsiders from outside Gujarat how to conduct Garbo were also part of the preparations. These seminars let everyone take part in the celebration equally and helped to close cultural differences. Students were more than eager to blast the dance floor by the time the event started.
Garba as a Way to Embrace Cultural Heritage
Garba is a kind of cultural expression with great origins in Gujarati heritage, not only a dance. Narayana Business School gave its students access to interact with this rich cultural legacy by organising this event. While local students celebrated their heritage with pride, for students from outside Gujarat the festival was a learning opportunity.
The reason such gatherings are unique is mostly this cultural interaction. By means of the Garbo event, Narayana Business School succeeded in fostering an environment whereby students could share and value many cultural practices, therefore supporting the notion that India’s variety is its advantage.
Motivation and Prizes for the Students
The event included a prize distribution ceremony to inspire involvement and excitement as well. Awards in several categories honoured students for their inventiveness, passion, and commitment. As students put their best foot forward to earn honours, this injected some thrill into the event.
The evening was especially unforgettable for all those engaged because of the excitement of dancing together and the challenge of competition. The awards were a little show of thanks for the student’s diligence in ensuring the event went off.
A Night to Remember
Ultimately, the “Night Before Navratri” Garbo event was an experience that united individuals, strengthened a feeling of community, and let students express themselves via dance and culture—far more than just a celebration. Many of the students, particularly those from outside Gujarat, had never seen Garbo before, hence this was their first experience and it stayed with them.
Knowing that they have not only celebrated a festival but also embraced the attitude of unity and cultural appreciation, the Narayana Business School students may look back on this night with pleasant recollections as Navratri starts.
