On Tuesday, Acer India announced the introduction of its second laptop, the Aspire 3, as part of the Make in India initiative.
Acer feels this is a unique product at a price range where “we don’t see any other competing models that are built in India,” and that the price point it is aiming for is below Rs 30,000.
“The Acer Aspire 3 is the first laptop in the Aspire series to be made locally with world-class manufacturing standards that are on par with global procedures to give the performance and quality that customers need.
“This laptop, built on the Intel platform, provides enough power to get you through your day, whether it’s for business, learning, or casual use,” Sondhi says.
The laptop is created in a cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Noida. After the well-received TravelMate series computers, this is the second laptop to leave the factory.
The Acer Aspire 3 laptop is powered by Intel processors, which provide class-leading performance and features that allow the Aspire 3 to handle everyday chores with ease while giving a compelling value proposition to increase PC penetration and help India become digitally empowered.
“We are already producing desktops, all-in-one PCs, and tablets in India,” the company said. “With these new initiatives, we will be able to create our whole PC product range, beginning with the TravelMate series laptop and now the Aspire 3 series laptop for the mainstream segment.”
With prominent partners like Intel, the company said it will focus on manufacturing laptops in the value, mainstream, and education segments.
