Actor Shreyas Talpade Reveals Near-Death Experience: “Clinically Dead” After Heart Attack

Actor Shreyas Talpade recently opened up about a harrowing incident during the shoot of his upcoming movie in Mumbai. The 47-year-old actor, who had never been hospitalized before, suffered a heart attack on December 14, leading to a revelation that he was ‘clinically dead’ for a staggering 10 minutes.
The Wake-Up Call:
Shreyas disclosed that his heart stopped beating after he completed his last shot. Initially attributing his symptoms to muscle strain from intense action sequences, he recounted feeling breathless with pain in his left hand. Despite contemplating going home first, his wife, Deepti, sensed the severity of the situation and rushed him to the hospital.
The Critical Moments:
En route to the hospital, Shreyas’s condition worsened. He described the moment when his face went numb, leading to him passing out due to a massive cardiac arrest. His heart had stopped beating, and his wife, unable to exit the car due to traffic, climbed over him to call for help.
Medical Intervention:
Upon reaching the hospital gate, the entry was obstructed, forcing them to take a U-turn. During this critical juncture, Shreyas’s heart had stopped, and doctors swiftly intervened. Employing CPR and electrical shock, they managed to revive him. The actor expressed gratitude to the strangers who came to their aid.
Post-Arrest Recovery:
Following the cardiac arrest, it was revealed that Shreyas’s main arteries were blocked. Doctors performed an angioplasty and inserted a stent to address the blockage. The actor is currently taking one day at a time and is expected to resume work in a few weeks.
A Second Chance at Life:
Shreyas, emphasizing the gravity of his experience, termed it a “massive wake-up call.” Acknowledging his family’s history of heart ailments, he urged everyone not to take their lives for granted, stating, “Jaan hai toh jahaan hai”
