Dr. Priti Adani’s Day-Long Visit to Narmada District
Dr. Priti Adani, the Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, recently spent a day in Narmada district, Gujarat, where the foundation has been implementing the Fortune SuPoshan project since 2018. The initiative focuses on combating malnutrition in women and children aged 0 to 5 years across 14 CSR sites in 11 states in India.
Vibrant Welcome in Rajpipla with Tribal Dance
The day began in Rajpipla with a lively tribal dance performance welcoming Dr. Priti Adani. Heartwarming conversations unfolded about the efforts to promote good nutrition for the holistic health of people in Narmada. The district, designated as an aspirational district by the Government of India, sees SuPoshan covering 38,388 children, 7,991 adolescent girls, and 12,382 women in the reproductive age group.
Applauding Village-Level Volunteers
During her visit, Dr. Priti Adani commended the SuPoshan project team and the 215 SuPoshan Sanginis, village-level volunteers trained to combat malnutrition and anaemia in the district. She expressed admiration for their dedication to reaching the most vulnerable population in Narmada’s challenging terrain. SuPoshan Sanginis shared their experiences, highlighting how their association with the Adani Foundation improved their socio-economic conditions.
A Vision for Health and Nutrition
Dr. Priti Adani emphasized the Adani Foundation’s commitment to supplementing the Poshan Abhiyaan with the SuPoshan project. Over the last five years, the foundation has established a robust community connection, reaching remote households and inspiring behavioral change on a large scale in Narmada.
Subtitle 5: Community Engagement in Mathavadi Village
After the program, Dr. Priti Adani visited Mathavadi village to engage with community members, ASHA workers, and Anganwadi workers. SuPoshan Sangini Baby Kiran Tadvi shared her experiences in raising awareness about nutrition, health, and hygiene through various activities, including home visits, counseling sessions, recipe demonstrations, focused group discussions, and the cultivation of kitchen gardens.
SuPoshan – A CSR Initiative for Malnutrition-Free India
Project SuPoshan, a CSR initiative of Adani Wilmar, implemented by the Adani Foundation, aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of achieving a malnutrition-free India through the National Nutrition Mission (Poshan Abhiyaan). The initiative strategically supports Anganwadi centers and frontline health workers. In Narmada, SuPoshan stands as a testament to the Adani Foundation’s unwavering focus on improving the health and well-being of communities, particularly children and women.
