Adani Wind’s Powerful Wind Turbine Gets Government Approval

Ahmedabad, India, September 14, 2023 – Adani Wind, a part of Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), is excited to announce that their 5.2 MW wind turbine generator (WTG) has received the green light from the Indian government. This means that Adani Wind’s powerful wind turbine is now ready for use.
Adani Wind’s 5.2 MW WTG is the biggest onshore wind turbine in India. It’s also one of the most powerful in the world. This amazing turbine is designed to produce a lot of clean energy and help reduce the cost of energy production. It has a giant rotor that’s 160 meters wide and stands 200 meters tall. Plus, it’s been certified as safe and effective by WindGuard Certification GmbH, which is a respected organization that checks wind turbines.
Mr. Vneet Jaain, Director at Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), said, “We want to thank the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) for their support. Our 5.2 MW turbine is a game-changer for wind energy in India. We’re following the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, which means we want to make things in India and reduce our dependence on others. Our goal is to produce 140 GW of wind energy by 2030. To do that, we plan to make 5 GW worth of these turbines soon. With more countries aiming to use clean energy and secure their energy supply, wind power will be very important. Also, making sure we have different places to get our supplies from is important, and that’s where India comes in. Our wind turbines will be in demand not just in India but all around the world.”
Mr. Milind Kulkarni, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Adani Wind, added, “Being included in the government’s approved list is proof that we’ve worked hard to create high-quality wind turbines. Now, our powerful 5.2 MW turbine is available for anyone who wants to use it. It will work really well and be efficient. This also shows our commitment to helping India’s wind turbine industry and making it better. We’ll be able to use these turbines in places where it wasn’t possible before to create clean energy.”
