Salman Khan, a celebrity in Bollywood, will reportedly reteam with director Ali Abbas Zafar for a sizable action movie, according to Zafar.
If all goes as planned, the possible movie would be the duo’s fourth feature film together, following hit movies like “Bharat” and “Sultan” in 2017 and “Tiger Zinda Hai” in 2016. (2019).
According to Zafar, he has already begun writing the film’s script.
“Inshallah, Salman sir and I will collaborate on a high-profile production of a traditional Indian entertainer. Together, I aim to make a sizable action movie. I’m working on it, and I’ll give him (the script) shortly,” the 40-year-old director told PTI during a Zoom interview.
Due to prior obligations, Zafar was unable to helm the third installment of the eagerly anticipated action-thriller “Tiger” franchise, which is supported by Yash Raj Films (YRF), but he is looking forward to the film.
In 2012, Kabir Khan took the helm for the first film, “Ek Tha Tiger,” but Zafar took over for the sequel, “Tiger Zinda Hai.”
Maneesh Sharma, known for his work on “Fan” and “Band Baaja Baaraat,” will be directing the threequel, which is set to premiere on April 21, 2023.
“Adi is like an older brother to me (producer Aditya Chopra). I had various commitments at the time the third installment of “Tiger” was being made. Our timetables were incompatible. But I believe Maneesh, who is continuing the brand, will treat it right.
“Kabir Khan, myself, and now Maneesh all contributed our unique personalities to the movies we made. The next film “Tiger 3″ excites me. It should be a lot of fun, in my opinion. I’m content,” he continued.
With three films in the works, including Shahid Kapoor’s untitled action feature, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and “Super Soldier,” starring Katrina Kaif, Zafar is currently waiting for the release of his Netflix movie “Jogi,” starring Diljit Dosanjh.
According to the director, Shahid’s movie has wrapped up filming and is now moving into post-production.
“Shahid’s movie will complete post-production by the end of the year. As we near the finish line, we will make the release date known, he added.
The female leads for “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” will shortly be revealed by the producers, and filming will start the first week of January.
According to Zafar, the movie only has a name in common with the Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda-starring 1998 hit “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.” David Dhawan served as the film’s director.
“It is a brand-new movie that has nothing to do with the previous one. It is an action movie that takes place in the present. You will soon learn more about the movie since we are now casting the starring females, which should be finished by the end of this month or the beginning of next,” he stated.
“Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” supported by Vashu Bhagnani, will be released around Christmas.
Speaking about “Super Soldier,” Zafar claimed that Kaif’s prior obligations caused the movie’s postponement.
Because of Katrina’s past obligations to “Tiger 3” and other things, the schedule was delayed. The best thing in her life finally arrived when she got married. We now need to figure out how to perform “Super Soldier.” We are in constant communication and agreement. The director also stated that the movie is compatible with Netflix.
