Bollywood is booming these days with fresh and original storylines. While some directors have been fortunate enough to develop films with original conceptions, others have not been as fortunate. But taking chances is ultimately what makes a movie. We’re going to talk about a new kind of plot that Dharma Productions has once again created in this movie. We call the movie “Bad Newz.”
“Bad Newz” Movie Review: Plot and Storyline
A Punjabi family in Delhi is the setting for the movie. People have liked these Bollywood films that portray Delhi culture, which have been based on Punjabi families in Delhi in recent years. The central characters in “Bad Newz” are Saloni Bagga and Akhil Chadda. Vicky Kaushal portrays easygoing Punjabi businessman Akhil Chadda, while Tripti Dimri plays ambitious girl Saloni Bagga. They fall in love fast and tie the knot, but within a few months, they get divorced.
Before Gurveer Pannu enters in Tripti’s life and introduces fresh comedy and twists, everything appears to be usual. Although there are significant gaps in the plot, it is different nonetheless.
All in all, the scenario seems reasonable. The first half of the screenplay is interesting and has a nice balance of comedy, drama, and romance. The film succeeds in its novel attempt to combine humour and seriousness.
One scene, for instance, is emotionally charged because it features someone hurling a plate of food at a portrait on the wall out of rage. The humour is added when the food makes a hilarious noise and slides down the glass.
“Bad Newz” Movie Review: Acting
Regarding acting, Vicky Kaushal exudes energy and captures the essence of a witty and upbeat Punjabi man from Delhi. Since this is not his first role, he not only does a great job, but he also gives the character some interesting gestures. However, Tripti Dimri presents another image than her onscreen image. She proves in this movie that she is much more capable than I had thought when I thought she was restricted to particular kinds of roles and acting. Although she has plenty of chances to demonstrate her acting abilities, she occasionally reverts to her former self.
In this movie, Punjabi actor Ammy Virk portrays a naive Sardar. His work is notable and he is able to impress the audience.
Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk’s banter reminds me of Aamir Khan and Salman Khan’s exchange in “Andaz Apna Apna.” The renowned movie “Andaz Apna Apna” is still present in this film.
“Bad Newz” Movie Review: Direction and Screenplay
There are some directing errors, but they are easily forgiven, and the songs are passable along with some excellent background music. All in all, the movie is enjoyable.
“Bad Newz” Movie Review: Cinematography and Music
“Bad Newz” features visually appealing cinematography, particularly in scenes with artistic elements like the indoor pool surrounded by candles, which creates a dreamy ambience. The use of vibrant colours and well-composed shots enhances the film’s overall aesthetic and complements its comedic and emotional moments effectively.
Music: The film’s soundtrack is decent, with background music that complements the scenes well. While the songs are standout hits, they serve their purpose in supporting the film’s mood and enhancing the viewing experience.
