Newzdaddy Spiritual Updates

Durga Puja, a festival celebrated with immense devotion, passion, and enthusiasm, has transcended its origins in West Bengal to become a cherished event for Bengali communities across India and the world. These six days of celebration bring people of diverse backgrounds together to commemorate this significant festival, united in their reverence for the divine mother and the triumph of good over evil.

With this spirit, the Bengal Cultural Association (BCA), a non-profit socio-cultural organization dedicated to preserving Bengali culture in Ahmedabad since its establishment in 1938, is preparing to host the 86th Kalibari Durga Puja Celebration in 2023 in grand style.

BCA has steadily grown in strength over 85 years, earning a prominent place in Ahmedabad and among the Gujarati diaspora. With over 1500 Bengali member families actively participating in various cultural celebrations, BCA not only organizes events like Durga Puja and Kali Puja but also engages in broader community outreach, allowing members to connect with the wider Bengali community.

Shri Anal Mukherjee, Hon. General Secretary of BCA, expressed gratitude for the past contributions and achievements and shared plans for the future. He emphasized the importance of greater member involvement, e-participation, and the role of sponsors and donors in supporting the 86th Durga Puja celebrations. Mukherjee also announced the near completion of the Kalibari Community Centre, a project conceptualized in 2018 and set to be ready by early next year.
