The Rashtriya Raksha University, in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs, India, hosted a groundbreaking two-day conference on “Asian African Law and Treaty Practice” from February 28 to 29, 2024. Spearheaded by the RRU Centre for International Law (RCIL), the event brought together luminaries from diverse backgrounds to discuss and dissect the intricacies of treaty-making and legal practices shaping Asian-African relations.

The conference witnessed the distinguished presence of key figures, including Smt Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture, India, whose insightful remarks shed light on the significance of the event. Prof Bimal N Patel, the Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Raksha University & International Law Commission Member from India, alongside His Excellency Dr Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol, Secretary-General of the Asian African Legal Consultative Organisation (AALCO), added depth to the discussions. Notably, Mr Nathaniel Khng, Legal Advisor at the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations, shared valuable perspectives during the sessions.
