Senior Kids Shine Bright, Managing Scholarship Day
The Visamo Kids Foundation in Ahmedabad, India, recently held its 21st Scholarship Day, a joyous occasion that honors the exceptional achievements of underprivileged children. This year, the event celebrated 23 students for their academic excellence and recognized two dedicated parents for their unwavering support.
A Warm Welcome and Words of Appreciation
The event kicked off with a heartfelt welcome address by Maya, the AI Avatar of Dr. Manjula Pooja Shroff, the managing trustee of Visamo Kids. Maya expressed the foundation’s immense gratitude to everyone who contributed to their success. This included grassroots NGOs, partnering schools, parents, donors, volunteers, mentors, tutors, members of the Visamo Task Group, brand ambassadors, and well-wishers. Their combined efforts create a powerful support system for these deserving children.
The celebration featured Ashish Bhadaniya, a civil engineer and alumnus of the shelter home, as a guest of honor. He delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the transformative impact Visamo Kids had on his own life. He emphasized the importance of parental trust in the foundation’s process, urging them to believe in the bright future Visamo Kids helps create.

Celebrating Adversity and Encouragement from a Renowned Actor
The event’s chief guest was the renowned actor and Visamo Kids Foundation brand ambassador, Makarand Shukla. He shared personal anecdotes from his childhood, encouraging the students to view their challenges as stepping stones to success. He also commended the parents for their unwavering support in their children’s education.
Bhavesh Vekaria, a member of the Local Management Committee of the shelter home, also graced the event as a guest of honor. His message focused on cultivating a “winner’s mindset” to navigate life’s uncertainties. He offered practical advice to parents, encouraging small but impactful changes, like saying no to alcohol, rejecting domestic violence, and staying away from petty crimes. These positive choices create a stable and supportive environment for their children to thrive.
Over 250 guests witnessed the joyous event, including parents, members, the chairperson of the Visamo Task Group, mentors, volunteers, representatives from partner schools, and interns from Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) and Nirma University. The atmosphere buzzed with community spirit and the collective desire to support these deserving children.
Adding a unique touch to the celebration, senior kids from the shelter home managed the entire event. This showcased their growing confidence, responsibility, and valuable life skills nurtured by Visamo Kids.
Celebrating 12 Years of Transformation
The day concluded with a bittersweet farewell ceremony for seven students who completed their 12-year journey at the shelter home, from class I to class XII. Each student received a personalized photo frame commemorating their cherished moments at Visamo Kids. These graduating students shared their experiences, highlighting how their time at Visamo Kids shaped their identities and aspirations.
Dreams Taking Flight: Inspiring Success Stories
Pinkal Someshwara, hailing from Wadaj slums, delivered a particularly inspiring message. Having completed her BA LLB from Gujarat Law College as the college topper, she now aspires to become a lawyer. Nayan Vasava, another graduating student, is pursuing a BCA from MSU Vadodara.
Mufeeze Manakiya and Divyesh Bhuva are charting their course in the dynamic field of technology, studying AI & ML at Silver Oak College in Ahmedabad. Drashti, with a passion for fashion, secured a spot at NIFD, Jodhpur, to pursue Fashion Designing. Prachi Rohit, determined to build an aviation career, is pursuing Aircraft Maintenance Engineering in Vadodara. Nirmal Singrakhiya has already begun his professional journey, working with a private company in Mundra.
