Rajasthan Royals Englishman Jos Buttler is one of the role models on the field. We have yet to witness the player acting out of control on the pitch. After a surprising exit in the IPL 2022 final, Buttler also lost control. The player did not disappoint by batting well in the final against the Gujarat Titans (GT vs RR). Rajasthan’s progress in the tournament was aided by him, and he was removed for 39 in the final.
Buttler attempted to score a run off Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya’s ball to Tedman in the first ball of the 13th over of the Rajasthan innings. The player’s effort, however, was intercepted by Gujarat goalkeeper Saha. As he tried to make the cut to Tedman, the batsman’s ball ended up in Saha’s hands.
Rajasthan was given the opportunity to bat after winning the toss. Leading hitters Yashaswi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Devdutt Padikkal have all been ruled out of the World Cup, leaving fans and the team hoping for another ‘huge’ innings from Buttler. Buttler stormed back to the team’s dugout, hurling his helmet and gloves into the trash.
By playing tremendous innings in the Gujarat Titans final to become champions in his rookie season, Buttler failed to save the team from defending the championship. The Orange Cap winner had the most fours (83), sixes (45), highest Powerplay overs performance, and Most Valuable Player of the Season.
