GLS University recently celebrated its 7th Convocation Ceremony on December 16, 2023, marking a day of immense pride and accomplishment for the graduating batch. The ceremony, graced by esteemed guests, highlighted the university’s commitment to education and the transformative power of knowledge.

Distinguished Guests

The event was honored by the presence of Smt. Hema Malini, a veteran actor and Lok Sabha member, who served as the Chief Guest. Ms. Malini praised GLS University for its significant contribution to education and encouraged graduates to aspire for higher goals in life.

Renowned Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi artist, Smt. Smita Shastri, also shared insights, drawing parallels between classical dance and professional skills. She inspired the graduating batch to be agents of positive change in the world.

Leadership and Wisdom

Shri Sudhir Nanavati, President of GLS University, presided over the ceremony and delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in transforming lives. He urged graduates to embrace challenges, learn from failures, and persevere in their pursuit of success.

Shri Pankaj Patel, President of Gujarat Law Society and Managing Director and Chairman of Zydus Lifesciences Ltd., provided valuable advice to graduates, encouraging them to view mistakes as opportunities for growth. He stressed the importance of setting higher goals and contributing back to society.

Artistic Recognition

The ceremony also honored Shri Anup Jalota, a highly acclaimed singer and musician, with an honorary doctorate in the field of Indian Art and Music. Dr. Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director of GLS University, acknowledged Jalota’s exemplary work.

Recognizing Excellence

A total of 3602 students graduated during the ceremony. Thirty-five meritorious students received Gold and Silver Medals, while 36 ‘Best Student’ awards were given across various faculties. Additionally, 15 doctoral students were awarded Ph.D. degrees.

 Closing the Chapter

Shri Sudhir Nanavati officially closed the convocation, marking an unforgettable day for graduates, their parents, and the entire GLS University community.
