The event was organized in collaboration with SPACE India, an ISRO-registered Space Tutor. SPACE India has long been involved in educating and inspiring students about space science. By partnering with such an organization, Delhi Public School-Bopal ensured that the event was both enriching and exciting for students, bringing real-world space knowledge to the classroom.

The collaboration emphasized the school’s commitment to providing quality science education. SPACE India’s involvement added a layer of authenticity to the event, enabling students to experience space science in a hands-on, interactive way. Exciting Activities for Middle School Students

The day began with an assembly specifically designed for students from classes VI to VIII. This assembly was packed with exciting and educational activities, all centered around space and lunar exploration. One of the highlights of the morning was the launching of a Hydro Rocket—a thrilling experience that allowed students to witness the principles of rocket propulsion firsthand.

The fun didn’t stop there. Students also had the opportunity to take part in a hands-on crater-making exercise, which helped them understand how craters are formed on the Moon’s surface. Another engaging activity was a demonstration of the phases of the Moon, which provided students with a clear and interactive way to grasp this essential concept of astronomy.

To further enrich the experience, various models of space technology were displayed, including the Hydro Rocket, LVM3 M4 rocket, Vikram Lander, and Pragyan Rover. These models gave students a glimpse into the intricate designs and functionalities of the tools used in space exploration, particularly in India’s Chandrayaan missions.

Student Volunteers Enhance the Learning Experience

Approximately 25 student volunteers eagerly stepped up to facilitate these activities. These volunteers helped guide their peers through the various stations, explaining the scientific principles behind each activity. One of the most popular stations was the Moon Ball, where students got to explore lunar occurrences in a fun and engaging way.

The students learned about how instruments like the Alpha Particle X-ray spectrometer (APXS) and the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS) played critical roles in analyzing the lunar surface.
