In “Monkey Man,” Dev Patel takes on the role of Kid, a young man struggling to survive in an underground fight club. Night after night, Kid dons a gorilla mask and endures brutal beatings for money. The story draws inspiration from the Hindu deity Hanuman, adding layers of cultural depth to the narrative.

Driven by years of pent-up rage and trauma, Kid hatches a plan to confront the corrupt elite ruling the city. His journey becomes one of vengeance and self-discovery, as he unleashes a campaign of retribution against those who have wronged him.

The trailer for “Monkey Man” echoes the adrenaline-fueled action of a “John Wick” movie. Dev Patel’s character, Kid, is seen engaging in intense combat, wielding weapons, and confronting his adversaries head-on. The scenes are visceral and gripping, promising audiences an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Joining Dev Patel in the cast is a talented ensemble including Sharlto Copley, Sobhita Dhulipala, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, Sikandar Kher, and Makarand Deshpande, adding depth to the film’s narrative.

“Monkey Man” is not just a film; it’s a collaboration of creative minds. Producers include Patel himself, along with Jordan Peele, Jomon Thomas, Win Rosenfeld, Ian Cooper, Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, Christine Haebler, and Anjay Nagpal. Executive producers include Jonathan Fuhrman, Natalya Pavchinskya, Aaron L. Gilbert, Andria Spring, Alison-Jane Roney, and Steven Thibault.

Presented by Universal Pictures, “Monkey Man” is a Bron Studios production, in collaboration with Thunder Road Films, Monkeypaw Productions, and Minor Realm/S’Ya Concept Productions, with support from WME Independent and Creative Wealth Media.
