Unveiling Season 2 of Shilp Aarambh – GIFT City Run 2024
The Second Season of the Shilp Aarambh – GIFT City Run 2024 kicked off with great enthusiasm at GIFT City, Gandhinagar. Organized by the Shilp group and Snehshilp Foundation, this event follows the remarkable success of Season 1 held in 2023. With a primary focus on eradicating drug addiction and substance abuse, particularly among youth, Season 2 promises even greater participation and impact.
A Noble Cause
Mrs. Snehal Brahmbhatt, the Founder of Snehshilp Foundation, highlighted the vital role of youth as the backbone of the nation. Recognizing their potential, it is crucial to invest in their holistic development while safeguarding them from the dangers of substance abuse. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, Viksit Bharat@2047: Voice of Youth, underscores the importance of empowering and protecting our youth—the agents and beneficiaries of change.
A Collaborative Effort for a Drug-Free India
Aligned with the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Fit India initiatives, Shilp and Snehshilp Foundation joined hands to organize this run. Supported by the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI), dedicated to promoting physical education and sports awareness, the event garnered significant attention and participation from various sectors.
Mary Kom: An Inspiration to All
The esteemed presence of Mary Kom, the Olympic Medalist and six-time AIBA Women’s World Champion, added prestige to the event. As a pride of Indian boxing, Mary Kom flagged off the runners participating in the 21 Km, 10 Km, and 5 Km run. Joining her were renowned dignitaries including Shri Chiranjiv Patel, Shri Sameer Wankhede, Mrs. Kranti Redkar, Prof. Dr. Arjunsinh Rana, Yogsevak Shri Sheeshpal Ji, Shri Martin Peters, Obi Unaka, Shri Parth Oza, Prof. Dr. Rajul Gajjar, Shri K N Kher, Piyush Jain, and Race Director Suri Paaji.
