John David Washington and Margot Robbie are featured in the first trailer for David O. Russell’s return to filmmaking.
Christian Bale has another movie coming out this year, hot on the heels of killing gods in Thor: Love and Thunder. The newest movie from director David O. Russell, who also created Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, is titled Amsterdam, and the first trailer just debuted on Wednesday. It has an all-star cast, with Margot Robbie from Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad and John David Washington from Tenet playing the lead roles opposite Bale. In November, the film is scheduled to hit theatres.
Amsterdam is a 1930s-era film that centers on the friendships of Bale, Washington, and Robbie as they assist Bale when he is falsely accused of murder. They come across several unusual personalities along the road and become caught up in a huge American plot.
Besides the main three, the following actors also appear in this film:
Richard Gere
Stephen Olyphant
Saldana, Zoe
Malek, Rami
Robert Shannon
Stephanie Riseborough
Michael Myers
Swift, Taylor
C. S. Rock
Since Joy in 2015, writer-director David O. Russell has only produced Amsterdam. That break might be due to Russell’s reputation for being exceptionally challenging to deal with, especially for actresses. In 2004, a notorious video of him hurling insults at Lily Tomlin on the set of I Hearts Huckabees surfaced. During the filming of American Hustle, he allegedly made Amy Adams weep (and forced Bale to defend her). Russell has exhibited questionable behavior in his private life as well; his transgender niece has accused him of touching her improperly. The dispute was resolved outside of court.
The Amsterdam teaser also exposes some unexpected production credits, particularly in the category of executive producers, where celebrity rappers Drake and Adel “Future” Nur are included.
Some of the most bothersome adversaries I can imagine in a fight are Elden Ring’s dogs. Even after playing the game for hundreds of hours, one minor error during a battle with a dog could cause me to lose all of my runes. I was trying to figure out what it was about the dog-like opponents in FromSoft that made them so annoying to battle. So, until I discovered why dogs are a pain in my butt, I put away my weapons and raised my fists to every dog in the Lands Between, including the Monstrous Dogs and the Red Wolf of Radagon.
