The Oppo Find X5 series appears to be on the verge of being released, as the smartphone maker has announced a three-year collaboration with Hasselblad, the renowned photo manufacturer, to co-develop forthcoming camera technologies for the flagship Find X series. The two companies will now concentrate on color science discoveries in order to improve the mobile photography experience on Hasselblad Camera for Mobile.

In the first quarter of 2022, the new flagship Oppo Find X5 series will be unveiled with “OPPO | Hasselblad Camera for Mobile” branding.

“Following the success of OnePlus and Hasselblad’s collaboration in the previous year, we are delighted to see the partnership reach a new level of development, providing more customers across the world with the opportunity to experience the iconic Hasselblad mobile photography.”

“OPPO has always put a premium on-camera colour performance, and it’s in Hasselblad’s DNA.” We’re ecstatic to be able to collaborate on the future of Hasselblad Camera for Mobile.”

Last year, further integration between Oppo and OnePlus was announced, and the brands’ research and development resources were pooled in order to maximize efficiency and improve customer experience. With the photographic advancements made possible by the OnePlus-Hasselblad alliance, Oppo hopes to take the strategic partnership to the next level for both the Oppo and OnePlus brands.

Through R&D collaboration, Oppo and Hasselblad will continue to develop improved imaging solutions, with the goal of providing users with more natural colours and a refined image experience.

Oppo is also aiming for the most natural skin tone possible in its portrait photos by using Hasselblad’s Natural Color Calibration. Beginning with software enhancements for natural color tuning, the three-year agreement will also develop the color calibration solution with the goal of establishing a new benchmark for smartphone camera color performance, resulting in consistent natural color performance.

OnePlus previously teamed with Hasselblad and released the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 10 Pro, both of which had Hasselblad-tuned cameras.
