In exciting news, Geeta Phogat, India’s wrestling sensation, and Commonwealth Games gold medalist, is all set to inaugurate the 5th edition of the Ekal Run in Kolkata. The event, organized by FTS Yuva, is scheduled for January 7, 2024, at Godrej Waterside.
Geeta Phogat, who made history by winning India’s first-ever wrestling gold at the Commonwealth Games, will kick off the marathon. The run offers multiple categories, catering to a diverse group of participants. From serious runners in the 21km and 10km timed races to those looking for a fun experience in the 3km non-timed run, the event promises something for everyone.
The Ekal Run, FTS Yuva’s annual flagship event, stands out for its noble cause – educating rural children. With over 5000 participants expected to join, the marathon serves as a platform not just for athletic achievement but also for contributing to a meaningful purpose.
