In the heart of Ahmedabad, a deeply spiritual and culturally rich event called Vākpati Jyoti Rasotsav is about to begin. This festival is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion as part of the 250th-year Mahamahotsav of Acharya Shri Gopinathji. Under the blessed guidance of Pujya Pad Goswami Shri Ranchhoddalalji (also known as Shri Aabharnacharyaji), this 9-day celebration is all set to bring spiritual joy to thousands of devotees.
The event will be held from Thursday, April 24 to Friday, May 2, 2025, at the sacred premises of Gopinathji Jyoti Peeth, which is a place of immense religious significance and devotion.
To mark the divine beginning of this Rasotsav, a grand Shobha Yatra (holy procession) will be organised in honour of Shri Vallabhacharyaji (Mahaprabhuji), the founder of the Pushtimarg sect. This yatra will spread the spiritual vibrations across the city and bring together Vaishnav devotees from across the country and even abroad.
A major spiritual highlight of the Rasotsav is the Shri Bhagwat Venu Geet Katha, which will be narrated by the learned scholar Shri Kardam Rushi Shastriji. His deep understanding and soulful narration of Lord Krishna’s flute melodies (Venu Geet) from the Shrimad Bhagwat will surely touch the hearts of devotees.
Each day, nearly 1000 to 1500 Vaishnavs will gather to be part of this divine celebration. Several special events will be organised, including:
- Manoraths (devotional offerings to the deity)
- Kundkal Arpan (flower offerings)
- Samuh Mala Pheravni (collective garland offerings)
- Kirtan Samaj (group devotional singing)
- Daily Mahaprasad (sanctified meals)
- Devotional Garba and Ras Utsav (dance)
This blend of devotion, music, and togetherness creates a divine environment that brings peace to the soul and joy to the heart.
This year, Kundkal Arpan will be elevated with a rich variety of classical performances:
- Hindustani Classical Music
- South Indian Classical Vocal Music
- Kuchipudi Dance
- Spanish Guitar Performances
- Khayal Vocal Recitals
These performances are planned to make the event not just a spiritual journey but also a cultural celebration that honours Indian art and music traditions.
As part of the celebrations, the contribution of artists and devotees will be recognised through “Gopinathji Kala Arpan”—a special honour that pays tribute to those who serve the divine through their talents and skills.
The holy venue, Gopinathji Jyoti Peeth, is not only a revered temple but also a cultural and spiritual heritage site. This place is also historically known as the first home temple of Natvarlalji, a central figure in the Pushtimarg tradition.
Shri Gopinathji Maharaj’s presence in this temple has been a source of devotion and faith for more than 200 years. Even today, devotees from all over India and other countries visit here to seek blessings.
Speaking to the media, P.P. Goswami Shri Ranchhoddalalji (Shri Aabharnacharyaji) shared,
“The Gopinathji Jyoti Peeth is not just a temple. It has become a centre of spiritual, cultural, educational, and social activities. Through such festivals, the values and teachings of Shri Vallabhacharyaji are carried forward to future generations.”
He further expressed his heartfelt desire to continue organising such spiritual events that bring people closer to devotion, service, and divine love.
Whether you are a devout Vaishnav or someone who appreciates spiritual and cultural heritage, the Vākpati Jyoti Rasotsav is an experience to be part of. From soulful katha sessions and devotional music to collective prayers and joyful dances, the event is an opportunity to celebrate faith and togetherness in a sacred setting.
