In their first season in the Indian Premier League, the Gujarat Titans (GT) have surpassed all expectations (IPL). This season, they were the first team to qualify for the playoffs. They have 20 points after 13 games and will finish first in the points table at the end of the league stage. Even if they lose their last league match, no other team can score more than 18 points. Gujarat has only lost three of their 13 games so far, and many of their victories have come in difficult conditions. We examine five reasons why GT has had a successful IPL 2022 season.
1. Various players raising their hands
Gujarat has dominated the IPL 2022 for several reasons. They haven’t relied on the performance of one or two stars. Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Rashid Khan, their three draught picks, were projected to be their main contributors when the season began. They’ve all done quite well, but they’ve also benefited from contributions from others. At the outset of the innings, Abhinav Manohar played a couple of vital blows. Wriddhiman Saha has batted as if he owns the opening spot after Matthew Wade’s failure. In the bowling department, Yash Dayal and Alzarri Joseph have been unsung superstars. R Sai Kishore has also arrived and made an immediate impact.
2. The final edging
Gujarat has a distinct advantage over the competition in terms of finishing. Rahul Tewatia has produced a pair of fantastic innings to help his team overcome near-impossible odds. With a nerveless 94*, David Miller played possibly the best knock of the tournament, lifting GT to a three-wicket victory. Rashid has cut his bat like a warrior to pull off a pair of spectacular triumphs, joining Miller and Tewatia in causing triple misery for opponents.

Mohammed Shami, the giant slayer
In the team’s first encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, GT pacer Mohammed Shami began off IPL 2022 with a beast of delivery, sending back KL Rahul’s first ball (LSG). For Shami and Gujarat, the first-ball wicket set the tone for the season. He has removed Robin Uthappa, Sam Billings, Sunil Narine, Kane Williamson, Rahul Tripathi, Virat Kohli, Jonny Bairstow, and Devon Conway in the following matches, all at the opening of the innings. When GT and LSG met again, Shami triumphed against Rahul once more. In IPL 2022, the seasoned Indian bowler has been on another level.
4. A strong bowling attack
Gujarat’s bowling assault, not just Shami’s, is top-notch. With his quickness and wicket-taking skills, Lockie Ferguson was outstanding in the early matches. Yash Dayal has had an outstanding IPL debut season, providing excellent support to Shami. As previously stated, Joseph has provided quiet support to the key bowlers while still performing his duties. When the teams met for the second time in the league, Rashid took four wickets in GT’s thrashing of LSG. When Hardik Pandya has bowled, he has looked effective.
Hardik Pandya’s commanding leadership
It would be unjust to lavish praise on skipper Hardik Pandya given the team’s outstanding efforts. But it would be equally unjust to deny him a share of the credit. The true test for Hardik will come when his opponents figure out his captaincy strategies and target him accordingly. He is, nonetheless, doing a terrific job for the time being. He ensures that the bowlers arrive at the appropriate time, which Rishabh Pant may learn from. His outburst at Shami during one of the matches was uncalled for and a sign of his leadership inexperience. But kudos to him for taking the initiative and leading from the front. in the early games, the front with the willow His performances instilled in the new franchise the belief that they belonged here.
