The Grand Ceremony
The grand award ceremony of GIFA 2022 was held on 28 February 2023 at Narayani Heights in Ahmedabad. GIFA has once again proved that GIFA Awards is India’s largest Gujarati film award ceremony. Like every year, in this 7th year too, the performance was spectacular. GIFA is working to promote Gujarati films by presenting awards to the professional actors of Gujarati films who have made valuable contributions to Gujarati films in recognition of their work.
The famous faces of the Gujarati film world brightened the night. After the success of the last six years, in the seventh year also in the grand award ceremony of GIFA-2022. GIFA 2022 was successfully held in the presence of more than 400 celebrities, more than 35 artists in different categories with the special presence of many well-known stars and dignitaries among an audience of more than 5000.
The performers
In particular, the special presence of well-known dignitaries from Gujarat and all over India graced the ceremony, including actors Vikram Thakor, Hitu Kanodia, Osman Mir, Kirtidan Gadhvi, Yogesh Gadhvi, MD of Gujarat Tourism Mr. Alok Kumar Pandey and Khyati Nayak and many dignitaries from the cinema world.
The Golden Award Winners
This year’s Golden Awards presented by GIFA became the centre of attraction in which Vivek Agnihotri, who made the film The Kashmir File in Bollywood, was present to accept the award, along with Anil Sharma, Bollywood director Ghadar, Padma awardee Hemant Chauhan, actor and director Deven Bhojani, and well-known Bollywood and Gujarati artist Paresh Rawal was honoured with the Golden Award.
The entire program was moderated by the film stars, initially performed by Sonak Vyas, Pooja Joshi, and Sapna Vyas, while the medal film kids danced and mesmerized the crowd in a simultaneous performance. Jayesh More and Kinjal Pandya entertained the audience with their amazing performances in the Valam Javon performance, people also joined in the Saiyar Mori performance, along with this, Hitu Kanodia performed with a banging entry on the Madhav movie song. Similarly, Pooja Joshi on Tari Hir Na Song, Bhumi Trivedi on her own songs, Maulik Chauhan and Denisha Ghumrah on the old songs and Utsav Nayak and Netri Trivedi on the song from the recently released film Aganthuk made the GIFA Awards shine. Cinema anchoring like Sonak Vyas, Pooja Joshi, Jinal Belani, Maulik Chauhan, Sapna Vyas, Mehul Buch, Smit Pandya and Arvind Vegda graced the show. Jury members were also specially present in which director and writer Mr. Mihir Bhutta, Poet Mr. Tushar Shukla, film-maker and editor Srinivas Patro, noted actress Rupa Divetia, legal advisor Mr. RK Rajput, producer Mr. Jignesh Patel, producer of National Award winner film Mr. Manish Saini and filmmaker Aditi Thakor were also present.

This year many well-known brands joined GIFA including BU4 AUTO, Gujarat Tourism, AERO TRANS, FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM and Pixel D and 91.1 Radio CT joined the radio. The entire program will be telecast on Kurlus Gujarati.
The Gujarati Iconic Film Award (GIFA) survey expresses gratitude to the film-loving public of Gujarat. GIFA President Hetalbhai Thakkar and Vice President Arvind Vegda have given the cinema that GIFA will continue to be a valuable part of the spread and promotion of Gujarati cinema.
