Waheeda Rehman recounted how Guru Dutt was warned that he was miscasting her in the movie Pyaasa when speaking with Arbaaz Khan about her early days in the film business. The actress described how Guru was called “bekaar” and compared to a “wooden doll” by someone. She did, however, add that she began receiving numerous film offers once her picture was printed in a newspaper while she was presenting an award.
According to Waheeda Rehman, her father was concerned about her.
Arbaaz Khan continued the topic by inquiring as to whether Waheeda Rehman acted out movie parts in front of a mirror. The Guide actor replied that her father would constantly become concerned if he saw her talking to a mirror. Yet one day, when he finally faced her, she responded to him beautifully.

Waheeda Rehman also discussed how Guru Dutt was given her name by a distributor and how she was urged to use a different identity for movies. She claimed she was willing to work day and night but would never agree to do something that she didn’t feel comfortable doing.
In terms of her private life, Waheeda Rehman wed Shashi Rekhi in April 1974. Sohail Rekhi and Kashvi Rekhi, the couple’s two children, were born into the world.
