The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), one of the oldest bodies of film producers in India, today inaugurated its new office in Mumbai. The first president of IMPPA in 1937 was Khan Bahadur Ardeshar Irani. A tribute to the industry’s greatest producers. From 2022 the President is Abhay Sinha and the Vice President is Atul P. Patel.

“The walls speak volumes about the achievements of the makers,” said Atul P Patel, Vice President of IMPPA. “The ARRI 3 cameras welcome members, and the murals of masters of the film industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, and Amjad Khan remind us of the iconic characters they have played. These characters
represent the film industry that is still remembered and will be remembered in the future.”
Stepping into a Cinematic Wonderland: A New Office Where Legends Come Alive
Immerse yourself in a vibrant tapestry of cinema past and present upon entering a newly designed office space that pulsates with the indomitable spirit of “The Show Must Go On.” Guests are welcomed by the watchful eye of an ARRI 3 camera, a silent sentinel guarding the gateway to a creative haven. The entrance to the preview theatre stands tall, emblazoned with the iconic line from the legendary film “Mera Naam Joker,” a poignant reminder that the wheels of storytelling must keep turning, despite life’s challenges.
Within these walls, history and modernity intertwine in a breathtaking artistic display. Walls adorned with captivating murals showcase a kaleidoscope of cinematic icons, their caricatures capturing the essence of their on-screen personas. Amitabh Bachchan’s charismatic intensity, Amjad Khan’s enigmatic charm, and Paresh Rawal’s versatile brilliance – these timeless figures find new life in vibrant strokes and bold lines, reminding visitors of the enduring power of cinema.

The conference room of the new office features a shot of Guru Dutt, one of the most influential filmmakers in Indian cinema. The walls are also adorned with some of the most iconic dialogues and characters from Indian films.
“IMPPA, one of the oldest associations of film producers, today inaugurated its new attractive office,” said President Abhay Sinha. “Every wall of the office speaks volumes and pays tribute to the great producers of the industry, from Guru Dutt to Shashi Kapoor Sahib. These are major producers who have contributed to Indian cinema. It does the makers proud.”
The Ultra Modern Theatre Atmos Sound
A cutting-edge office complex has been unveiled, boasting a state-of-the-art preview theatre equipped with Dolby Atmos a surround-sound technology. This impressive addition reflects the innovative and entertaining spirit of the office producers. A dedicated 37-seat preview theatre featuring immersive Atmos sound, highlighting the creativity and showmanship of the office producers.
This news announcement celebrates the achievement of office producers who have gone beyond their traditional roles to create a high-tech entertainment hub within their workplace, complete with an intimate theatre and cutting-edge audio technology for a reasonable price to the producer.
The inauguration of the new office was attended by many dignitaries from the film industry, including Prakash Jha, Jayantilal Gada, Sachin Pilgaonkar, and TP Aggarwal. Kuku Kohli, Ashok Pandit, Nishant Ujjawal, Tinu Varma, Babubhai Thiba, Rajkumar Pandey, Harsukh Patel and President Abhay Sinha, Vice President Atul P Patel.
“There is respect for every character painted on the wall, from the camera to the producer,” said Ashok Pandit. “I would like to thank Ashvin Borad, who has been doing photography for IMPPA for the last 10 years, for capturing the essence of the film industry in these murals.”
Achievements of IMPPA
1. IMPPA is the oldest (since 1937), largest and most established Producers’ Association in India where membership is instantly granted over-the-counter and where each member receives a Membership Card and Membership Certificate.
2. IMPPA currently has over 23000 members out of which more than 10,000 are active. Most of the producers of Feature Films, Television Series, TV News, Documentary Films, Short Films, Music Albums, Reality Shows, Web Films, Web Series, Video Films, Animation Films, Channels, OTT Platform and Service Providers are members of IMPPA.
3. IMPPA offers in-house legal assistance and dispute resolution facilities whereby complaints of members are regularly resolved to the satisfaction of both parties.
4. IMPPA offers emergency medical assistance to its members and the sanctioned medical aid is directly deposited in the bank account of the hospital where the member is getting treated. IMPPA also offers contingency aid to its members for example during the COVID-19 pandemic IMPPA provided prompt financial assistance to members who were in need.
5. IMPPA is the only Producers’ Association that offers lifelong pensions to financially weak senior citizen members above the age of 65 years.
6. IMPPA renders educational aid up to the Graduation level to members requiring assistance for the educational needs of their children by paying the fees directly in the bank account of the College/Institute.
7. IMPPA provides high-tech 37-seater home theatre to members at nominal rates of Rs.7500/- plus GST for 150 minutes and Rs.3500/- plus GST for 60 minutes for preview shows, press meets and other events.
8. IMPPA for many years has provided insurance coverage to all members with Accident Insurance of Rs.1 Lakh.
9. IMPPA provides state-of-the-art latest technology-backed prompt and efficient services of membership, title registration, dispute and all other matters related to members’ welfare.
10. IMPPA fights for the interest of its members whether it is issues of random decisions made by the Government or problems with workers, distributors or exhibitors.
11. IMPPA registers literary works of Entertainment products of its members and facilitates trademark and Copyright registration for members.
