RCB versus CSK in IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings Virat Kohli of Bangalore became the first hitter in the Indian Premier League to face 5000 balls. On May 4, Kohli reached the milestone during a match against Chennai Super Kings at the MCA International Stadium in Pune. Shikhar Dhawan of the Punjab Kings and Rohit Sharma of the Mumbai Indians have faced 4,810 and 4,429 deliveries, respectively. The sole overseas player on the list is Delhi Capitals’ David Warner, who has played a total of 4062 balls in his IPL career.
Kohli has scored 6499 runs with a strike rate of over 129 from the 5011 deliveries he has faced in his career. The former RCB captain is also the T20 tournament’s leading run-scorer.
Kohli’s struggles with the bat appeared to continue in the encounter against CSK. Kohli got off to a good start as he opened the innings with Faf du Plessis, but he couldn’t keep up the pace and was finally bowled out by Moeen Ali for 30 off 33 balls.
In the current IPL season, Kohli has failed to score runs. Despite reaching a half-century against Gujarat Titans in the previous match, runs did not come easily. Kohli needed 53 balls to reach his 58-run total. The great batsman has only 216 runs at an average of 21.60 and a strike rate of 111.92 in 11 innings in IPL 2022.
Meanwhile, after being given the opportunity to bat first, RCB scored 173 runs in their match against CSK. After losing wickets in the middle overs, RCB rallied to a respectable total thanks to Mahipal Lomror’s impressive 27-ball 42 and some late-inning fireworks from Dinesh Karthik.
In reply, CSK could only manage 160/8 and were defeated by 13 runs. Chennai’s chances of making the playoffs have all but vanished after their recent defeat. RCB, on the other hand, has climbed to the top half of the IPL points table, where they are currently ranked fourth. Bangalore presently has a total of 12 points after 11 games.
