India announces home series before and after ICC World Cup2023
The BCCI announced on Tuesday (July 25) that India will host Australia, Afghanistan, and England during the 2023–24 domestic season. In addition to hosting the ODI World Cup, India has 16 home international matches scheduled, including five Tests, three ODIs, and eight T20Is.
Prior to the World Cup, India will first host Australia for three One-Day Internationals, which would aid both teams in hone their World Cup preparations. The three ODIs will be held in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot on September 22, 24, and 27.
The series will resume following the conclusion of the World Cup with the two countries competing in a five-match T20I series that starts on November 23 and ends on December 3. Vizag, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Nagpur, and Hyderabad will all host games.
After the series, India will host Afghanistan for three Twenty20 Internationals in January 2024 in their first-ever bilateral series. The series, which concludes on January 17, will be broadcast from Mohali, Indore, and Bengaluru.
After that, England will go to India for a major series that will include five Test matches between the two teams.
The first Test of the series will be played on January 25 in Hyderabad, followed by matches in Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala, with the final Test slated to end on March 11.
The board further noted that the sites were allocated in accordance with the BCCI venue rotation policy by the Tours, Fixtures, and Technical Committee.
