When it comes to playing against each other on the pitch, there is no love lost between India and Sri Lanka. Off the field, though, head coach Rahul Dravid and former India captain Virat Kohli were gracious enough to thank Lankan pacer Suranga Lakmal, who is retiring from Test cricket after the ongoing Pink Ball Test in Bengaluru.

After India’s second innings on Day 2 of the Bengaluru Test, Kohli and Dravid shook hands and patted the Lankan pacer on the back. The Indian supporters adored the gesture. The BCCI moved to social media to share the video of Dravid and Kohli with Lakmal.

Meanwhile, India’s No. 3 batsman Hanuma Vihari agreed that the wicket was difficult, but his team managed to set Sri Lanka a 447-run mark after declaring at 303/9 on Day 2.

“It was a difficult task.” Any ball could get you out on this type of surface. Tomorrow will be difficult for Sri Lanka as well. Even on this surface, I was trusting my defense,” Vihari said after the second day’s play on Sunday (March 13).

“I got a good one in the first inning, but I should’ve waited a little longer in the second.” “I don’t think we planned on bowling this evening, but we thought we could have a go at them for 35-40 minutes because we lost wickets,” Vihari continued.

On Monday (March 14), captain Dimuth Karunaratne (10) and Kusal Mendis (16) will resume the Sri Lankan chase.
