Indian Beat their arch-rivals and a nail-biting finish in Men’s Hero Asian Hockey Championship here in Dhaka. Indian Scored the first goal via penalty corner scored by drag-flicker Harmanpreet and got India in the lead.
However, the Pakistani players came back and scored an equalizer goal.
Both teams were level after the third quarter of the play. India scored their second goal when only 3 seconds were remaining to end the third quarter of the match.
Pakistani goalkeeper could not believe how his defenders allowed the goal when only 3 seconds were remaining.
That goal put the score level at 2 – 2 at the end of the third quarter.
India managed to score another goal in the fourth and final quarter and was in the marginal lead of just one goal.
After some time Aakashdeep Singh scored another goal and got the tally to 4 – 2 in favor of India.
However, Pakistan managed to score one more goal in the last quarter and reduced the margin to 4-3 in favor of India.
Both teams played very skillful hockey and at the end of the game, a better team on the day won the match and the bronze medal.
India was a favorite for either Gold or Silver but their poor performance against Japan in the semi-final has demolished their dream.
Beating Pakistan today in a Bronze Medal match will give them and their fans some shy of relief.
