By instilling principles and ethics in school-age pupils through both indoor and outdoor classes and activities, the Student Police Cadet (SPC) Programme aims to create a connection between the Police and the community.

On Wednesday, professors and Gujarat Student Police Cadets participated in an interactive session with the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 1 in Porbandar.

Eight teachers and 150 cadets paid a visit to the Coast Guard Air Enclave and Headquarters, where they were given an explanation of the Indian Coast Guard’s duties and place in the Maritime Zones of India.

The aspiring cadets enthusiastically embraced their exposure to new technology onboard ICG ships, planes, and Control centres. Additionally, they were made aware of their duty to maintain the environment in the maritime sector in accordance with the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.” Such contacts inspire young people to join the military or police.

By instilling principles and ethics in school-age pupils through indoor and outdoor lessons and activities, the Student Police Cadet (SPC) Programme aims to create a connection between the Police and the community. It is a two-year programme for students in the eighth and ninth grades that aims to enhance their capacity. The programme seeks to develop students into capable and responsible members of our democratic society.
