Indian Coast Guard’s Green Initiative: Tree Plantation Drive for a Cleaner Environment

In honor of the 48th Anniversary of the Indian Coast Guard, a special tree plantation drive was organized by the Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters, North West, on January 16, 2024. The initiative aimed not only to celebrate the milestone but also to contribute to a cleaner environment in the area.
Active Participation:
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all quarters, including Officers, Enrolled Personnel, and Civilian Personnel of the Indian Coast Guard. Everyone came together to plant trees, emphasizing the commitment to environmental conservation.

Community Involvement:
Adding a community touch to the initiative, students from prominent educational institutions such as Shree Pratap Singh Ji Hindi Vidyalaya, Sector-30, Govt. Arts College, Sector-15, Gandhinagar, and Raksha Shakti School, Gandhinagar, actively joined the tree plantation drive. This involvement of students aligns with the larger vision of strengthening the “Mera Yuva Bharat Programme” initiated by the Government of India.
Mera Yuva Bharat Programme:
The inclusion of students in the tree plantation drive serves a dual purpose. It not only enhances the green impact of the event but also contributes to the broader goals of the “Mera Yuva Bharat Programme.” This program, initiated by the government, focuses on empowering and involving the youth in nation-building activities, fostering a sense of responsibility and connection to the environment.
