The BCCI announced on Monday that all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur will captain a 15-person Indian squad in the inaugural women’s cricket competition at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, which will begin on July 28. (July 11).
“On Monday, the All-India Women’s Selection Committee met to choose the team for the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022. Women’s T20 International will be included in the coveted multi-sport tournament for the first time, according to an announcement from BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

Australia, Barbados, and Pakistan, India
Group B
South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.
The top two teams from each pool advance to the semifinal round. In the league stage of the competition, which will begin on July 29, India is slated to play three games.
Indian athletes will strive to have a successful Commonwealth Games in 2022, which will start on July 28 in Birmingham. India has historically performed well at the CWG.
India won 26 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals during the 2018 Gold Coast Games. They were third on the list, after leaders England and Australia.
Not to mention, India won a record-breaking seven medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, and there will be high hopes for athletes like Neeraj Chopra and Mirabai Chanu in the Birmingham Games, which will take place from July 28 to August 8.
