Instagram, which is owned by Meta, has announced that it will integrate the Messenger and Instagram experiences to provide some of the best Messenger features to the photo-sharing site.
The firm announced that new capabilities for Instagram and Messenger are being rolled out in a few places around the world, with plans to extend globally soon.
“By releasing a new Messenger experience on the app, we’re announcing an update to Instagram DMs. Since we initially introduced messaging to Instagram, it’s come a long way. We’ve been thinking about how our messaging should change as we grow “In a blog post, the business stated.
“Every day, users send over 100 billion messages to their friends and family through Facebook’s family of apps. We use video conversations to keep in touch with pals these days, send memes and GIFs to express what we actually think (but can’t always say), and share humorous images and voice notes to stay in touch “It was also added.
According to Instagram’s research, four out of every five people who use messaging apps in the United States say that spending more time connecting with friends and family on these apps is important to them, but one out of every three people finds it difficult to remember where a particular conversation thread is located.
“With this upgrade, staying connected will be even easier without having to think about which app to use to contact friends and family,” the business added.
“We’re also adding over ten new features to help you keep in touch with your friends. Selfie stickers are a unique combination of Boomerang, emojis, and selfies, as well as a new method to respond to discussions. During a video conversation, Watch Together allows you to watch hot videos on IGTV with your friends. We’re also introducing vanish mode, which allows you to set messages to disappear once they’ve been seen “It was also added.
The company also announced that it will be launching more than ten new tools to help you remain in touch with your friends.
Instagram will also include Messenger-like functionality such as reacting to particular messages, forwarding messages, and customizing chat colours and themes.
