As the number of Covid-19 cases continues to climb, the BCCI plans to stage the whole Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) in Maharashtra. The NCP’s supremo, Sharad Pawar, is claimed to have given his assent, and the necessary approvals would be provided in the coming days.
According to the Times of India, the BCCI plans to hold the IPL 2022 in Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium near Pune.
If the Covid boom in Maharashtra continues, the IPL could be moved to the UAE as well.

According to the Maharashtra government’s most recent directive, “Except for national and international level contests that have already been organized, sporting competitive events would be postponed, under the following conditions: 1: There will be no crowd, and 2: All players and officials will be enclosed in a bio-bubble. 3: The GOI rules will apply to all foreign and domestic players that participate. 4: RT-PCR/RAT for all players and officials every third day.”
