The city of Ahmedabad bore witness to exhilarating sportsmanship as the curtains fell on the Little Giants Inter-School Championships, an extravaganza of athletic prowess and youthful enthusiasm. Organized by Adani Sportsline, the championship featured riveting contests in Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Cricket, and Football. With participation from more than 220 schools and over 4000 students, the event underscored the burgeoning sports culture among Gujarat’s youth.

Kho-Kho and Kabaddi: The Unforgettable Kick-Off

The fervor ignited as Kho-Kho and Kabaddi marked the commencement of the championships. In a historic move, the championship introduced girls’ competitions in Kabaddi, Cricket, and Football, reflecting a progressive approach to inclusivity. The Gems Genesis International School, Ahmedabad, emerged victorious in the inaugural girls’ Kabaddi competition, while Devasya International School, Ahmedabad, clinched second place. The boys’ Kabaddi finals witnessed a display of unwavering determination, with Urmi School, DLSS Vadodara, claiming the championship title and Vatsalya Dham School, Surat, securing the runner-up position.

Triumphs and Victories Across the Board

Spanning the expanse of Gujarat, the Little Giants Inter-School Championship in Kho-Kho saw Valsalya Dham Madhyamik Shala, Surat, seize victory, while Zenith High School emerged as the runners-up. Expanding its horizon, the championship welcomed cricket and football into its fold this year, with the finals held on 30th July in Ahmedabad. The fervent turnout bore testament to the dedication of cricketers and footballers alike, as they showcased their skills with fervor. Shree Vidyanagar School, Ahmedabad, triumphed in the boys’ cricket category, with Devasya International School, Ahmedabad, securing second place. The girls’ cricket competition saw Shree Vidyanagar School, Ahmedabad, emerge victorious, while Devasya International School stood as the runner-up. In the realm of football, Lalji Mehrotra Lions School, Ahmedabad, clinched the boys’ championship, while SGVP, Ahmedabad, secured second place.

A Journey of Evolution and Progress

The Little Giants Inter-School Championship, initially launched in 2018 with Kabaddi as its sole sport, continued its evolution. In 2022, Kho-Kho was integrated, followed by the recent inclusion of Cricket and Football. The championship’s growth mirrors the ever-expanding landscape of sports in Gujarat.

Honoring Excellence and Fostering Growth

The grand finale of the championship was graced by esteemed individuals, including Ram Mehar Singh, Head Coach, and V Sundaram, Assistant Coach of the Gujarat Giants kabaddi team. Anupam Goswami, CEO of Mashal Sports and League Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League, lauded the championship’s impact on kabaddi’s growth and applauded the efforts of Adani Sportsline in nurturing grassroots talent.

Satyam Trivedi, Head of Adani Sportsline, expressed delight in the championship’s success and emphasized its role in fostering a culture of sports. He acknowledged the collaboration of schools, teachers, and parents as pivotal in motivating participants, while also recognizing the presence of notable figures such as Ram Mehar Singh and Anupam Goswami, reflecting the collective commitment to uplifting grassroots sports.
