On a serene evening at the Karnavati Club Ahmedabad, hundreds gathered to hear a transformative message of inner peace and divine connection. Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri, the President and Spiritual Head of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship (YSS/SRF), delivered an uplifting discourse titled “Meditation: The Path to Divine Bliss and Abundance” on February 23, 2025. Over 900 spiritual people filled the venue, while more than 8,311 spiritual seekers from around the world joined via YouTube livestream, reflecting the universal appeal of YSS/SRF’s preachings.

Swami Chidanandaji, known for his warm demeanor and profound wisdom, began by emphasizing the timeless relevance of meditation in today’s fast-paced world. “In the silence of meditation, we discover a wellspring of joy that no external circumstance can take away,” he shared, drawing applause from the audience. His talk centered on Kriya Yoga, a sacred meditation technique popularized globally by YSS/SRF’s founder, Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda.

Explaining Kriya Yoga’s role as a “spiritual technology,” Swamiji described it as a practice that harmonizes body, mind, and soul. “Kriya is not just a technique; it is a surrender to the divine rhythm within,” he said. Attendees, ranging from young students to elderly devotees, listened intently as he recounted stories of Paramahansa Yogananda’s life, including his journey to the West in 1920 to share yoga and meditation with the world.

The discourse also touched on practical advice for daily spiritual living. Swami Chidanandaji encouraged the audience to start their day with meditation, saying, “Even five minutes of stillness can anchor your day in peace.” His relatable anecdotes—like balancing spiritual discipline with modern responsibilities—resonated deeply, sparking laughter and nods of agreement.

Founded in 1917 by Paramahansa Yogananda, YSS/SRF has spent over a century teaching the art of balanced living through yoga, meditation, and ethical principles. The organization’s global reach includes ashrams, meditation centers, and a beloved classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, which has sold millions of copies worldwide. Swami Chidanandaji honored this legacy, stating, “Paramahansaji’s vision was not confined to India—it was a gift to all humanity.”

The event also highlighted YSS/SRF’s adaptive approach to spirituality in the digital age. Livestream participants from countries like the U.S., Germany, Brazil, and Japan submitted questions, which Swamiji answered with his characteristic blend of humor and insight. When asked how to stay motivated in meditation, he replied, “Think of it as a daily conversation with your soul. Would you skip talking to your dearest friend?”

After the event, attendees expressed renewed inspiration. Priya Mehta, a local teacher, shared, “Swamiji’s words reminded me that spirituality isn’t about escaping life—it’s about living it with more joy and purpose.” Meanwhile, Rajesh Kumar, who joined online from London, added, “The sense of global community was powerful. We may be miles apart, but we’re united in seeking truth.”

As the evening concluded, Swami Chidanandaji led a brief guided meditation, leaving the audience in a shared silence that spoke louder than words. The event reinforced YSS/SRF’s mission: to make the transformative power of Kriya Yoga accessible to all, regardless of background.

For those who missed the discourse, a recording remains available on YSS’s YouTube channel, ensuring the wisdom continues to ripple outward.
