The largest integrated transport utility in India and a major member of the Adani Group, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd.(APSEZ), has once again made history in the marine industry. In January 2025, the firm recorded 39.9 million metric tonnes (MMT), its biggest monthly cargo volume ever, representing an outstanding 13% year-over-year (YoY) growth.

A 32% increase in container freight and an 18% increase in liquid and gas exports were the main drivers of this incredible accomplishment. In addition to demonstrating Adani Ports’ operational prowess, the performance highlights the company’s pivotal role in propelling India’s international commerce and economic expansion.

Mundra Port, the APSEZ’s crown gem, has recorded an unprecedented 7.72 lakh TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in a single month, setting a new national standard in container handling. This accomplishment demonstrates Mundra’s effective logistical network and solidifies its status as India’s top container port.

The Adani Mundra Marine Team also broke its records by managing 415 vessels and 884 vessel movements. The port’s exceptional operational efficiency demonstrates its capacity to manage heavy traffic volumes while preserving smooth logistics operations.

In January 2025, the Mundra Railway Division achieved a new high of 1.47 lakh TEUs, surpassing its previous record of 1.44 lakh TEUs. In addition, the port set a new record with 682 trains and 447 double-stack trains, showcasing its sophisticated rail connectivity and effective freight handling.

Container Terminal AICTPL broke its previous record of carrying 3.02 lakh TEUs in a single month, achieving its best-ever performance. With this achievement, AICTPL is India’s best-performing container port in monthly throughput.

The previous record of 0.832 million tonnes of liquid cargo was surpassed by the Mundra Liquid crew, which handled 0.841 million tonnes. Another major milestone in India’s energy logistics industry was reached by the APSEZ LPG team, who set a new record by shipping 1.01 lakh metric tonnes of LPG in a single month.

These record-breaking accomplishments at Mundra and other Adani Ports facilities reaffirm the company’s dedication to infrastructure excellence, operating efficiency, and facilitating international trade. APSEZ is now a vital component of India’s supply chain ecosystem with ongoing investments in state-of-the-art port infrastructure, sophisticated logistics systems, and sustainable growth projects.

Adani Ports is poised to substantially enhance India’s marine capabilities and trade linkages with international markets thanks to its strong infrastructure, top-notch technology, and growth-oriented strategy.
