Apple will release iOS 15.4 next week alongside new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models with sleek green finishes, which will have new capabilities such as Face ID that can be used with a face mask, Tap to Pay, and more.
Apple announced late Tuesday that the iPhone 13 Pro in alpine green and iPhone 13 in green will ship with iOS 15.4, which includes the ability to utilize Face ID while wearing a mask, a new Siri voice option, increased language support for Visual Lookup, new emoji, and much more.
Apple’s new Tap to Pay functionality, which turns compatible iPhones into contactless payment terminals, is also available with iOS 15.4.
iOS 15.4 adds a new AirTags safety feature: a notification that warns users not to use AirTags to track someone’s location without their permission.
Another major innovation is Siri’s addition of a fifth American voice. The voice arrives a little over a year after Apple added its final two American Siri voices and ceased using a female-sounding voice by default.
Any device that supports iOS 15, from the first generation iPhone 6S to the iPhone 13, will be able to run iOS 15.4.
“These new software features expand on the release of iOS 15, which improved the iPhone experience by adding additional ways to remain connected, strong upgrades that help users focus and explore, and intelligent capabilities to help users get more done with iPhone,” Apple stated.
